Here are highlights from NJPAC’s first presentation of “Nashville Hitmakers: The Stories Behind the Songs” on November 19, 2010. This intimate evening welcomed four of Nashville’s most successful songwriters — the artists behind some of country music’s biggest contemporary hits, performing their songs in the round, discussing the creative process, and sharing behind-the-scenes stories about their work. Guests included Rivers Rutherford (the man behind some of the biggest titles by Brooks & Dunn, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Chely Wright and others), Chris Wallin (who’s penned more than a dozen top 40 singles, recorded by artists like Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, and Trace Adkins), Dave Berg (ASCAP and NSAI 2008 Songwriter of the Year), and Tim Nichols (a Grammy Award winner, recorded by Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson and others). On April 9, 2011, “Nashville Hitmakers” returns to NJPAC with a new line-up of songwriters: Brett Jones, Tony Lane, David Lee, and Wynn Varble.

Why do we need "artists"?
not my kind of country.
First performer does a ROCK song with a southern accent, and calls it country.

ok, is it just is it just me, or is EVERY SINGLE ONE of these guys' guitars are out of tune, and not in tune together on top of that.
this is an awesome show, but please fire your audio guy…
Dave Berg is the shiznit!
This was an awesome show! Great vibe, great talent and good laughs. Very cool to showcase the songwriters who create the lyrics and melodies that make other artists famous.
