It's pronounced "minstrel-ry" . There's an 'r' in the word.
XXXX Styles of music , dance, design, art , church , and strenght !!!!!! ????????
can I get sources? writing a paper
This sort of history is so crucial to the American story. It blows my mind that it has never had a longer Ken Burns style documentary around it.
I believe you meant monophonic as opposed to "monophobic"

I have a question, why's that EEUU was the only place where the slaves develop such a sublime choruses .. here in Brazil or in the Caribbean, the main thing is percussion , but not so many voices
Great summary, but what a boring monotone voice. It really shows how thats a school project and they hate doing it. Woud be great for people having problems falling asleep or for sermons.
What’s the song in the beginning the blues and jazz
Black ??! ?
What happened? Now we have rap music making our people look bad. ?
Did I see Buddy Bolden's picture in there? Twice? A shame (if it was) that he wasn't featured a bit.
Didnt even touch on music…drifted completely away with racism…blah blah blah…thumbs down…
All talk
Blues is a king that will rule for ever
Crazy Robert Downey jr got away with doing blackface
Too many word noises!
Why would blacks like music that was invented by the blacks that sold them. Look it up
Let us be fair
I can't stand off this why
I'm not one of u BuTi fell consider my gratitude
This is the worst thing I have ever seen. It is so inaccurate, so chronologically wrong and used anachronistic resources to back up the text – *shudder*. The African American contribution to western popular music deserves much better curation.
Nice stuff, but at the End it went a bit out.. You can still trace Jazz's root .. no way else just in Africa… Come and try to listen to our Folklore music… no need to debate about that… thnx
Damn black people are lit
Once again! Some white guy trying to capitalize by telling our story instead of his own! Every bit of information he shared is common F&6ki#G knowledge! If you're gonna dare try telling these stories then by all means, stop leaving out the vicious treatment of the black performers and, the murders of many black musicians who refused to sign to sell their songs to bulls%t white performers who had influence and, NO TALENT!
i play guitar and know music history all blue grass, soul, jazz, blues and rock and countrys it al roots back to black wisdom we all need to give creds to the people that invented it all they did.ty for putt this video up im big on tell this the most i can when it comes up.
God ! this musics is realy holy !
God gave Africa music
For one thing yeah it’s informative… put it on mute and just watch .. this how they treated our ancestors back in the day … making jokes about it laugh at my pain .. but when you turn it around on them they don’t like it ..make it make sense.. this is the proof cause they know where it Origin from
I'm surprised you didn't bring up Kansas City, MO when talking about Jazz.
yall heard the nicki minaj song too right?!
This was very good!
