12 Replies to “Are Songwriting Contests Worth It?”

  1. It seems like it's the people who win are already in the industry and know people. The idea that it finds unknown songwriters with amazing talent is wrong.

  2. Unless you can look at your own music objectively, you'll never know if the songs are good enough to compete or not. I believe most cant and send in sub par entries. In other words, bring fire or don't enter until you hone your craft : )

  3. I have Lyrics only..
What do i do with them
The music is in my head for the lyrics..how do i put together.. Or is there a platform for my lyrics only.thx

  4. Nice video! Any ideas on how I can sell a song to someone? What would you recommend? A musicology university which is open to new technologies or a conservatory?

  5. I don't think a commitee should decide whether my song is good or not…. it can be really demotivating… but on the other hand, some constructive critics can do good 🙂
