Jeremy Riddle – Writing Lyrics for the Church | Watch More Here:
Jeremy Riddle discusses how a great song is written, including the benefits of co-writing, testing your song, and the importance of melody. This video is from Bethel Music’s WorshipU On Campus in 2015.
Jeremy Riddle is a worship leader and songwriter. He carries a deep passion for God’s presence, and his worship leading stirs hunger, freedom, and adoration towards the Lord.
Jeremy has been an integral writer on many Bethel Music albums on songs such as “This Is Amazing Grace”, “Breaking Through”, “Be Enthroned”, “Fall Afresh”, “Furious”, “God of the Redeemed”, “To Our God”, and “Love Came Down”.
Originally from New Jersey, Jeremy attended the Anaheim Vineyard in southern California throughout his teen years and later became a youth pastor and worship leader there. It was during his six years in these roles that his musical career as a songwriter developed. Jeremy released his first full-length album, Full Attention, in 2007 which includes the well-known song, “Sweetly Broken”.

Thank You Sir..
Great wisdom
I love my Lord Jesus!
The thing about pop songs not needing to make sense is hilariously true with regards to my fave, "I Want It That Way". That song's lyrics make zero sense but they are so catchy and get you feeling something. But worship is about lifting Jesus up. That's why it matters. It's about communicating who he is and our desire to know him!
This is the first time I'm hearing about worship writing in such a practical way. And Jeremy is funny too! Makes it an enjoyable lesson. God bless.
This is awesome ?
Oh man this is the video about worship song writing I needed!
Love this! Thanks Jeremy!
how to worship. you express YOU AND your HEART TO GOD. THERE. THE END.
I am not a songwriter but I have 8 books and over 700 articles published and I enjoyed this video as a nonfiction writer.
Thank you!
Thank you, Bethel and Jeremy!
