Great demo
Get the band back together and make this song. It's really good.
Rick this is the meat. Thank you
My favourite Beato Video. Would love more content like this.
This should have been a single, I’m not sure how the algorithm missed me but I’m glad I finally watched it.
"That's what you get for come on……" lmmfao hell YES!
Great work ! Do my demo song deed to be missed and mastered before shopping to music publishing companies? I’m just a song writer not an artist.
What other songs that made the album did you help write?
God I miss this sound
I want to repeat a great music teacher's comment:
"CountBlissett Teoria Musical
?@Rick Beato I have a small channel about music theory for young composers in Spanish. You're invited to talk whenever you want, just drop an email and we'll arrange. =)

He and Rick are the best for me and I'd love to watch them together, because I've learned a lot from them for my composition. I hope that happens soon!
Rick I love this video, and love your channel in general. However, there is a reason this song wasn't picked for the record. That record was banging from front to back. This song would have made another record, not the sound of madness.
You can specifically hear it in the 3rd line of the verse, which is weak, and the prechorus doesn't pull you into the chorus as much as it could. The chorus is pretty good tho, but the other parts are meh.
When you have that many great songs to choose from for a major release with Rob Cavallo producing, all it takes to get scrapped is a few wonky melodies. You should know that.
If it should have been, it would have been!
great! thanks rick, your channel is really helpful!
Has a shinedown fan this was extra fun to watch 🙂
Meh. I don't think they should have used this on the album.
Nothing against the production. Sounds great. But it's not hooky enough.
Not my music, but that was amazing.
as a small time producer arranger here in icky sticky black swamp mews ,,, Brisbane .. if a song doesn't hold it's own as a vocal over a guitar or piano .. it's not worth dressing up.. Steely Dan discarded a lot of songs that didn't vibe right or deliver the punch.
This is one of my favorite videos of yours that I constantly rewatch! Great information and killer song!
Nah for real though I've been taking free jazz guitar and jazz theory lessons from Rick on YouTube for free for a while now, just by the goddamn presets and show some fucking appreciation
And for the record, amp fuzz gives a very authentic sound to electric guitar parts…
This will be great to hold on to for a "previously unreleased" album of Shinedown for later in their careers.
Hey Rick, how was the idea of this song born? Not sure if I missed that in the video. But did Brent come to you with just a melody and then you mapped out the whole song around it and wrote the guitar and sections?
Love these videos, thank you!
Brent Smith is to good for Shinedown!
Absolutely love this video! Thanks Rick
How about a review on time changes. Use this song Neurotica
