   This book is wonderful. These are well-known songs, written by members of the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. Out of about 75, there were only four or five songs that I did not recognize. The collection is nicely varied, mixing old standards (like “My Funny Valentine”) with more recent fare (like Lionel Ritchie’s “Lady”).
   Artists include: Fats Waller, Irving Berlin, Sammy Cahn, Joni Mitchell, Otis Redding, Johnny Mercer, Gus Kahn, Lionel Ritchie, Oscar Hammerstein II, Lorenz Hart, Richard Rodgers, Paul Anka, Betty Comden, Cole Porter, Roy Orbison, Hal David, Burt Bacharach, Stephen Sondheim, Arthur Freed, George Gershwin, Fred Ebb, John Kander, Carole Bayer Sager…and many others.
