Great songwriters aren’t born great, they are great because of their curiosity, consistency, hard work and for sure creativity. As most experts agree that creativity is not a thing you born with, it’s a natural process that comes after a lot of trial and error (experiences).

In order for you to become a great songwriter, you have to work hard and practice a lot, these factors along with some songwriting techniques that you’re going to be learning can increase your creativity to an unbelievable level.

1- Practice whenever it’s possible: as they say «practice make perfect », if you want to write great songs that everyone will be willing to hear, just practice.

2- Learn as much as you can: this is a very important factor, as learning will give you a lot of songwriting ideas that you’ll never be able to provide yourself. Learning will give you a solid songwriting base that you can count on.

3- Apply what you’ve learned: You’ll not be able to write great songs by just learning, as everything can stand only if two factors are present (theory and applying), writing hit songs actually requires learning the right songwriting techniques along with applying them in your songs.

4- Don’t put too much limits: If the only thing songwriters did is following strict rules, we will not have this huge variety in song types and genres, just let some space to your creativity to take effect in order to make unique songs that stand and stay for long.
