  1. Genuine question for Black Americans. I myself am not black, but i'm curious to hear the thoughts of Black Americans when it comes to ZOUK music. It is a tropical, French-Caribbean music of Afro descent. It's not really popular here in the US. in fact .. i'm probably the only idiot in this country who blasts this music in my car lol I absolutely love the style! it's got a very catchy beat and I sense a hint of Latin vibes which makes sense being the Caribbean islands are close to Latin America.

Here's one for reference. This one in particular is more modern, obviously there are the older folk versions.
Sounds awesome when played loud in a good sound system or headphones .. don't be a wuss, listen to the whole thing lol

Please, any Black American who sees this comment, i'm genuinely curious to know your thoughts on this kind of music. I know modern American Black music revolves more around the Hip Hop territory, but i just really want to know what you think of this music.Share this with your friends and family and ask them what they think about it as well.

  2. Thats alright mamma – Arthur Crudup 1946. Good Rockin tonight – Roy Brown 1947.
2 Rock n roll records by black artists, long before Goree Carter.
Also , no mention of Robert Johnson ?
Get your Black history facts right , or this white boy will pull you up about it.

  3. So not a single mention of Michael Jackson… The king of pop. I get that a less than 5 minute video can't possibly encompass ALL of the black musicians, but the man was responsible for and may still be the number 1 selling album of all time.

  4. To everyone complaining about the artists they didn't include, I think the point of the video was to and give spotlight and expose people to lesser known artists of the past and important artists of today, rather than repeat what many have already said about household name musicians

  5. The butthurt over ‘race’ was anticipated, but nonetheless still disappointing. Damn, just appreciate the depictions of some of the milestones innovated by Black Americans and get outta your own solipsistic way.

  6. Typical "woke" bullshit to get views. How about "Music History is White History"? That's what I thought – it's all about supporting one race, not all of them. I love all skin colors, but when you single out one race, you feed racism more than any other action possible – Double-standard supporting pieces of shit….
