Marielle Kraft gives her take on the art of songwriting. Chris Arencibia is the owner and founder of Skylyne Records. As a freshman at Drexel University, Chris began his career working with local bands, before ultimately creating his very own record label. Seeing a rise in small, do it yourself talent, Chris created his label to work with these up and coming artists, on a budget that would work for them. Seeing a lack of help for artists just starting out, he has been working to bridge the gap between musicians and business to help them reach their goals. As a fellow artist, Chris understood how much a little outside work could help a musician. Chris has been running Skylyne Records for just over a year, and has grown his business to include artists from all over the world. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx

I am watching this video 4 years later, the same month i realised i need start to write my own songs and not just cover songs that i love.. so i just want to thank you for this..its never easy share feeling, specially nowdays.. but now i feel i can give it a try =D
I’m not looking for a song that tells me about you. I’m looking for a song that tells me about me and my world and makes me think you get me. That’s where the connection comes in.
Great breakup songs are like The Chain or Go Your Own Way. They’re universal. Or Don’t Speak. I can relate to those songs. I can’t relate to getting a box as part of a break up. I’ve never had that happen to me. It’s too specific. But I can relate to I’m Just A Girl because it’s still about the human experience of being trapped in a bad relationship. It has a universal element. All of those songs are honest, brutally so, made all the more honest by their poetry, which can only be found when you step away from literalism. And they make me want to know those artists far more than navel gazing lyrics.
Thankyou so much for this video. ?

The song was very nice, you have the attitude of being honest in writing and singing the song. Thank you for your inspiring message, Ms. Marielle Kraft.
I like your song
Thank you so much for this.
OMG I ONCE SENT ONE OF THOSE BOXES WHEN I FOUND A CERTAIN SOMEONE WITH A CERTAIN SOMEONE ELSE. Silver lining through eventual forgiveness, became friends with her and her future husband! He was actually a nice guy and honestly she was better off being with him!
I knew I heard the influence of J.M. in your music!
Nice
