Success is ultimately a game of attrition. How long can you keep going without seeing anything materialize. That's what truly distinguishes success.
How long can you keep writing songs without seeing that hit song materialize?
I ENJOYED MY STUDIES IN ATENEO DE ZAMBOANGA UNIVERSITY ZAMBOANGA CITY.
I LEARNED ABOUT JASON BLUME WHEN I WAS STILL A FRESH GRADUATE. I HAVE A GUITAR. I GOT PIANO LESSONS WHEN I DIDN'T GRADUATE YET. I'M A TYPE OF PERSON WHO IS OPTIMISTIC IN LEARNING NEW THINGS.
It's all about repetition
You can master anything you want to master if you will repeat it a sufficient number of times for your subconscious. We cannot ever become anything in particular unless we learn this law of repetition. It is one of the greatest laws in the universe.

Cat Food???????? That's like a poor elderly move. He just Earned my Respect !#AnythingIsPossible
Wow fantastic!
isnt it funny how the artist/songwriter we have grown up with from say the 50's to the 80's who wrote these iconic songs/albums knew less but wrote better songs that have lasted the test of time, and here we are with every available tool at our disposal i.e. workshops, youtube etc knowing more but writing less better songs, i submit to all writers its not always what you know, but the spirit and heart in the work along with knowledge
This is great info. Thanks for sharing. I have a ton of videos about music licensing and how to get music in tv and films. Check out my channel if you're interested.
Jason Blume is a poor songwriter. His songs suck!

It must be great to be able to write music and lyrics. I think Jason does both.I can write music but I feel like it has been a 100 years trying to find a co-writer to write pop hits. I think it is good to keep your day job, and finish college, and write music. Stay away from the cat food unless you like purina cat chow..that is my favorite LOL I guess better than dog food!
Here is another approach/plan to consider: How about spending a few years developing yourself in a good paying day job, do that for 10 years earning good money. Do a job that allows freedom in the evenings, (and during the day if your lucky) to develop your music. You won't have to eat cat food, you can afford to build up a nice home studio with quality gear while your learning song writing and production techniques. When you have some quality songs down, join taxi and start your music career.
Never CAT FOOD just get ramen : )
jeez cat food is expensive! My cat is making me go broke. He won't stop eating. Anyways, wouldn't ramen or something be cheaper? You can find cheap human food, it's not that hard.
I'm going to try to figure out which hits Jason did. I agree, it's a horror story. Sylvester Stallone's story is kind of similar, but there's a big leap in there with Rocky. Music has got to be the hardest business on Earth to crack, because everybody and their mother is a musician and/or a songwriter.
Hopefully the thought of 11 years scares away some of the competition 🙂
It might have taken you so long because you just didnt have it..But this could be inspirational to those who are the same as you
