  1. half a tea cup of bass, a pound of fat back drums, 3 level tablespoon of
boiling Memphis guitar, a pinch of organ, some ghetto drums and a pint of
horns. Oh wait! That’s King Curtis. I’ve always thought Motown had the same
ingredients, just a different recipe, and a whole lot of SOUL!

  2. it’s just the way they smile when they are playing together. these guys
loved each other, and i think that’s what made the music so great.
incredible musicians who loved each other.

  3. God, these guys are soooo wonderful!! I love what the drummer has to say! –
hilarious! Yeah it’s the floor, it’s the food. Duh? IT’S THEM! They are
IT!! They always were it!! They got me dancing for decades! Love them!! xx

  4. Starting from when Jack says, “I’ll be Earl Van Dyke…”: pure magic. I
teared up a bit. Those smirks on Babbitt’s face say it all.

  5. Well hell I’ll be doggoned! Yeah some ore bad ass oldies were you spying on
my wish list-smile Jr. Walker-I’m a roadrunner baby Ha go head on! This is
what I grew up in San Diego too. We Jammed! Miss the hood so bad! Any way
can Motown ever go wrong well h-e-l-l No! Smile thanks so much for giving
me a bit of my precious past… God bless ya!?

  6. Lyrics you can understand, melodies that are unforgettable, feelings that
never go away, better or as good as big band sounds..wish I could go back
    in time. ?

  7. NORMAN, WHEN THESE SONGS CAME OUT I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL IN THE 60’S AND THEY
SOUND JUST AS GOOD NOW AS THEY DID THEN, AND I’M 64 YRS. OLD NOW. MY KIDS
GREW UP ON THIS MUSIC. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES.?

I am 60 now and no doubt a lot of these great singers have passed on. but
the Motown Magic Sails on. THANK YOU to all of them past and presant.t?

  9. What becomes of the broken hearted oh damn…what a jam! Sheesh from 8-80
huh I don’t know about the UK but I do know we know good music and I don’t
give a damn what color somebody is music is music and I like what I can’t
sit still to or have to sing when it comes on..dig? I’m 63 on Saturday and
I had a mom and pops that jammed good music and a bro and sis that were 10
and 11 yrs older then I was who dug good music too. The only thing I cannot
stand is the head bangin metal stuff it makes me wanna cut my own throat
and if I go in a bar or club and they are planning that crap I gots ta go
and my kids are the same and they are almost as old as I am and were raised
on Motown too. OH hell here comes Gladyse Knight Hold it girl! I heard it
through the grapevine everyone in the pad right now hollered oooohhh girl I
love this cut! Smile. Hey old ladies need recognition too. Smile. Superb
collection and above! Thanks Mr. Postman was always a big one at the pad
my pops was a mailman…The viet nam thing was going on and wow the guys
over there would write their girls and the back of the letters would have a
big ol S.W.A.K. in it and then De Deliver, De Letter, De Sooner, De Better
so pops always saw that stuff and used to laugh. Oh yeah they always wrote,
“hi Roy” also. Cool huh. Pops is gone now and music brings my family right
to my frontroom still. So glad my people raised me so multi-culteral-got to
know all kinds of diversity. My children also said the same to me. This is
the first time I’ve ever written comments I’ve had fun doing it to
    this…again thanks.?

  10. aww the memories, my brother 6’2″ tall, the blondest hair, bluest eyes used
to take me to a community center in Sikeston Mo., to get me away from my
step father, now he always had a girlfriend or 3, lol, but he was my
protector, & my mom used to say I was born dancing, he kept that going for
me, but was very protective of the guys dancing with me, I was 13, & tall
as my sister who was 16..lol..people thought we were twins…..miss my
brother, but all those great music sure brings back wonderful wonderful
memories, thanks for allowing me to share. He came home from Vietnam, was
sprayed with agent orange, those 3 purple hearts mean NOTHING without him,
my best friend in the world…R.I.P., & save a dance for me, God gave us
this soul of us so I know we’ll be able to dance…..?
