  1. This song is so smooth. I listened to this song repeatedly when I got the
    “Gettin’ Ready” album on CD. Very strong track. I didn’t know the Monitors
    made the song until I ran into it a couple of years ago. Love this track!

  2. Wow, loved this the first time I heard it; some band track as the Monitors’
    version, yet as you point out nearly a totally different vibe. I continue
    to be in awe of the Temptations; what a gift from Motown to music history.

  3. I like that line…”what a gift from Motown to music history.” How very
    true! I have the Monitors’ take on this too and that will be coming up. I
    always found it so interesting the differences between the Monitors and
    Temptations feeling for the song. The Temptations are all about the darker
    edges while with the Monitors, you get the feeling Richard Street already
    knows the woman is practically his already and he’s setting up to make the
    final move, lol.
