18. I'd like to see Cat Stevens, Stevie Wonder and Justin Hayward on the list. McCartney is my # 1. In the last 25 years alone, he has written more great songs than some others on this list, although his earlier work is more well known and appreciated.

21. What about Bernie and Elton ? They wrote more classic rock hits than any other. Elton John and Paul McCartney are still accurate today. Bob Dylan is more of a poet like Mitchell and Cohen. No great singers but poets.

25. Bob Dylan is a great songwriter but very overrated. The way people lionize him is ridiculous. Springsteen, who is pretty much a garbage human being, is actually a very great and underrated songwriter. Paul McCartney is entirely overrated and does not belong on this list. John Prine and Townes Van Zandt weren't even honorable mentions on this list? WTF? Other honorable mentions…Neil Young, Kris Kristofferson, Mark Knopfler, Tom Waits, Elton John/Bernie Taupin.
