Labor days is timeless and gets better every time I listen to it. Going on 24 years now for me
LONG LEGGED LARRY WAS A FROG IN THE POND
Excellently said. I’m subscribing.
if DOOM was still alive he would be the best. but he's not so aesop is
This was fantastic journalism
In my opinion Tupac and Eminem are still the most influential and best
Aes is the singular most unique and Lyrically genius writer to ever grace the human species. You're absolutely right.
Ugh, I'm gettin you more as i go. Sorry for the recent post. It's not totally tight
Intertertexuality is just mashed potatoes. Maybe there's some carrots involved but, just mainly mashed potatoes. Honestly, no offense but, i haven't finished it yet, and i see is intertextuality as a lame response to his lyrics
Tony hawk pro skater changed my life with labor.
Ace doom and Earl. Don't worry tho kids, I'm next.
Aesop Rock will probably never become highly popular during his own lifetime but it’s so obvious to anyone who’s really listened to his work that he will transcend time and one hundred, one thousand years from now he will be talked about in the same way classical artists are talked about today; I’m not being hyperbolic either, he is literally a genius, his writing skills are on par or better than any classical writer you want to put forth
Great video and analysis, however I think you got the Jekyll and Hyde reference backwards… he's saying that the weed keeps him from going to the dark place, keeps him somewhat even… not the other way around… Hyde being the evil actor .. at least that's how I interpreted it.
Lmao we just gotta make sure we do not mean A$ap Rocky ????
How do you delete a dead friends number?
Literally not one single dislike lol
EVERYBODY SAY GOOD DOG!
Man you gotta make a vid on saul williams
In my opinion Canibus K-Rino and Daylyt the best lyricist ever. But shoutout to Aesop doe
gg
Man I am just sad that I have never heard about him .
But I want to be enlightened with more of his music please help.
Saul Williams huh? I love his verse on Release with Blackalicious! R.I.P Gift of Gab!
I think Aesop & DOOM are the greatest to ever do it.
Yes maybe the best alive but counting in general its got to be MF DOOM Rest in peace to the best Mc with no chain you ever heard
The "little plot of land" is inside probably inside his head.
Title followed by "fight me" is probably seen in many people's heads lol
Thumbnail speaks the truth!

He and I share a birthday. I never had anyone to even remotely relate to prior to discovering his music check out some of my material and let me know if you see a correlation between our styles
Now do Eyedea
just title alone, i can only agree. i have yet to find a better lyricist
Yo… What up with that Saul Williams video?
I take it also as the plot of land being hip hop, the contraband being the message and power; without this outlet to express and vent, he would become his Hyde.
And Y'all Did Not Include K-Rino SMDH…
First video I saw was your Lighthouse video. I knew you had good taste when I saw the RTJ shots. This just solidifies it.
NEVER LET US DIE ON THE REGULAR HILLS
So now we're just giving out likes for stating obvious facts???
Hmm…you win this time, @Novum. >_>
You could just make a video with this title and various verses from songs.. There is no debate he is untouchable.
He is.. No debate there.
Loved the analysis. Great video, great research, great work!
LOL ,,, Gimme a freakin break,, !!!
Hes more than a rapper. he's a lyrical painter. His lyrics are so random and visual. Like a spewing stream of consciousness from a deep intelligent and humorous genius. Only person id put up there with aesop is MF doom. Both are very similar in many ways.
also calling Pot "drug use" is a bit damning. Makes him sound like a druggie. Dude just smokes pot. Not that big a deal.
