Be easy to work with and enjoyable to be around. Put the ego aside. Study your craft.
You're welcome 😉
Thank you!!!!
Can I ask you what is the lower amount of money a ghostwriter should accept per song?(meaning that the writer doesn’t get the royalties)Especially when they’are asked to deliver the song between 10/15 days
Thank you!
I was looking for Becoming a Independent Artists ?
You never said how we make money
Thank you for this ? many blessings….
Hi, I’m a high school student who’s currently struggling on the idea of what I want to do with my life. I’ve recently had thoughts about songwriting, production, and music in general. But I’m worried about whether it’s the right path or not… I’ve always seen the music industry as really competitive and luck based. I just need to know, is trying out songwriters a smart choice?
How can I sell my songs?
What I wanna know is all the kind of logistics steps, like: do I put myself in an LLC or an S Corp so I can write off my expenses?
How do I find freelance work?
Or what's the best way to get heard after submitting songs to ascap or bmi?
?
Im scared that my words won't make sense, that they may come off as childish or corny. Im super discouraged right now
Get your mind right 🙂 i could not agree more with that one. Looking forward to watching your next videos Timotha x
Thanks for the gems ?
New subbie
Thank you, Timotha. I write a lot, I wrote a poem book, a song and right now I'm trying to write a novel. Sometimes I feel I'm all over the place and not really focusing in one thing.
Thankyou baby
Do you think it's a good idea to publish videos of performances of originals on YouTube?
Thank you so much for this nugget of advice
Good video! How does one get their songwriting out if they don't sing? I write songs but I don't sing or have anyone to sing them for a demo. Any tips? Because I'm 46 and I've written countless of songs and have been searching for sources or record labels, no luck. I feel as though time is ticking for me.
Is there a website for me to start??
Joyce Meyer… ?
And there is some other advice for the arts. And by all means take your shot. But be smart. Some of you out there (including this writer and vlogger) have the artist aspiration. You have been told by the very few who made it to believe in yourself and never give up. Well the simply fact is the arts are very different than any other profession. Because usually–someone else has to let you in. Now what I would tell you if you are 18 or 40 and feel that your destiny is in the arts? I would not tell you to just stay the "safe route" and give up on your dreams. I would tell you to pursue the artist aspiration smartly. Get another trade that you at least like. So the agents of industry never have you by the throat. You have to go to work anyway so you might as well have the job that pays well. I never went through the starving artist phase. I went through a starving student phase. So when I finally did pursue the artist endeavor I did it with a job I also like that contracts for 100K a year and four month vacations in Europe. That's how you go through being a starving artist. You don't starve at all. Hope this helps someone—Charles
I need a manager, I am a music creator, but I do have alot of stuff blocking me, if Rock music has a chance and if you heard my demos, they are not great quality, just samples, but I do need help….the negative part is I connote record myself , I play all instruments,…im told my songs are good by people, help
I am crossing my finger hoping this is the real deal because I have a lot of rnb song I am trying to put in front of the right people. Who do you use to copyright your work.
Thank you for the encouragement . Funny you mentioned the book "the battlefield of the mind" . That book changed my life. The problem i found was that I don't always finish my songs. So much potential. Yet at times i try to come back to songs and cant always put myself back in that mood. Not only that but sometimes I find that I simply just over think it. Lat thing i want is a weak verse with a powerful hook. But also think it is important to Collab to build energy. Sometimes I also just lose energy and become tired. Nonetheless I know once I understand this obstacle and what it will teach me i will be able to help others.
i have been making song but i stop because i was afraid no could relate to it :") but your tips are so BEAUTIFUL LOVE IT!!
I have beautiful ideas, but would love to create a collaborative team one day. Like having an engineer to tell you wat works and wat doesn't in the physical sense.
thanks you're amazing
Every video I see about “how to become a songwriter” is never real answers there always “inspirational thoughts and tips to better your craft.” Never any answers. These videos should be called “How to Get Inspired as a songwriter”
"Don't be unrealistic about where you are. Be optimistic about where you are going". Beautiful advice. Blessings to you Timotha
