  1. I think John Prine was one of best but he didn't write Clay Pigeons Blaze Foley did.John started to look around for Blaze's song's after Merle Haggard had a number 1 hit with If only I could fly.Merle didn't credit Blaze but John did for Clay Pigeons. It turned out that John had met Blaze a few years before.

  2. Listen to the emotion you hear in his voice when hes talking about this, you can tell this is what hes here for, that passion is what made this guy a star, he loves what he does there no doubt in my mind. I don't know if you'll see this man but I'm a songwriter too and I've been trying to write a "slow dancing in a burning room" for years now what I realized to be a great writer you have to live that truth. I had a charting song and all of that, the accolades are good, but if you love what you do and you enjoy doing it, that is what matters the most. Great wisdom

  3. John Prine did not write Clay Pigeons-A huge part of johns influence was a man named "blaze Foley"-who wrote it. he was a troubled drunk and it kept him right where he seemingly wanted to be, in the underground. Merl Haggart also covers it live and gives no mention that Blaze foley wrote it. Its good to fact check when 100 thousand people are listening.

  4. Listening to John Mayer isn't like listening to John Lennon. John Mayer as good as he is, is still a wannabe. So, John Mayer to me is really Captain obvious without the stupid had and uniform and John Prine I mean rip, right, but that Americana music for the most part is really boring. If you consider singer song writers like Glen Campbell/Jimmy Webb, James Taylor, Paul Simon, Carol King, Bonnie Raitt Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, John Denver the world famous songwriters even more current ones that just played guitar and sang the songs they wrote. There was a reason you didn't hear more about John Pirine. John Prine to be honest was just another boring one of them that maybe had one hit, and a few deep relatable song that other better singer guitar players sang. He was to me the type of guy you'd see at JoJo's coffee shop or Poor David's pub in Austin on a thursday night with 30 people in the audience.

  5. Always well spoken John. You got me a little emotional, thinking about him and you, and me, and God, and eternity… life being a beginning, middle, and end… I thought about Damon Wayne’s sketch about the ride of success. Then, somewhere in between that, I thought what if at the end of life, my 1 of 3 favorite celebrities/ forget celebrity! just favorite people, John freakin Mayer went to hell, because he never accepted Jesus Christ as Lord of his life…????? that’s all I’m going to say John, just think about it, let me know if you want to come to a zoom church service with me sometime. ???

  6. John Mayer is a fantastically talented human being, no question, but he is teaching false religion by claiming that if you give your life to writing authentic music regardless of accolades, you have lived a kingly saintly life. Please don't mistake this as a means to eternal redemption and salvation. Jesus Christ is king, we are sinners whether you write great authentic songs or not (as John Mayer clearly has, man what a talent he is, love him) Jesus Christ lived the life we should live and died the death that we should die so that all who believe in Him will have eternal life. There are no "good people" (by earthly standards …sure) but against the backdrop of a holy and righteous God, our best days of righteousness are like filthy rags. Stare into the beautiful face of Christ and the things of earth will grow strangely dim. Repent and come to Christ, recognize your sin and accept the free and unmerited gift of Grace and eternal life. By Grace through faith in Christ alone.

  7. Some people are really moved from his analogy. I have no idea what he means. I understand that life is a ride. Is the operator supposed to be God? Or Fate? Eye contact is communicating with destiny or the supernatural? Kindly explain to me, in depth, what he is saying cause I’m missing something, thank you ???

  8. Dude I forgot John Prine died, Clay pigeons is really good, a mix of Dylan and Johnny Cash's hurt era- Blaze Foley is a good writer but Prine's rendition much like Hendrix's to all along the watch tower has overthrown
