  2. While this particular version of “the craft of wrapping a set of words around a melody” is acceptable (given today’s less than erudite appetite), the level of invention that it rises to is remarkably remedial.

    There is something to be said for studying prose and poetry of the last couple of centuries.
    Sting, much like Taupin, Mercury, and Dylan for example, had a more evolved use of metaphor, color and simile.
