  1. I have done this so much while twidling around thinking “wait that would make a good melody!” Only to realize 10 minutes later that The basis of this melody is almost an exact copy of something I had listened to at some other point not too far in the past and it just infuriates me 🙁

  2. Love this. When I was about 6 years old there was this childrens book I liked filled with christmas stories. One winter I would just type the entire book into my computer. I thought I had just written my first book. I was so goshdarn proud. When it hit me that actually, no, I had done nothing but copy something that existed, I was very sad and miserable. Would've been easy money though

  3. There's already so many songs that you're bound to have sections in an "original" song that are from other songs. Basically, you make original songs by putting previous songs together, slowing them down, speeding them up, improvising. Nothing is truly original. Everything is based off of other things the person involved has seen or heard.
