Rapping can be very competitive which can be a good thing if it pushes you to improve your skills. But sometimes that urge to show off how skilled of a rapper you are can cause your overall raps to suffer.
In today’s video, I’m going to explain several common ways this happens so that you know what to look out for so that your rap lyrics stay very well balanced which will help you write better rap songs.

Yeah, everything in lyrics is a trade-off. Your meaning, rhyme, other poetic devices, and flow are all in opposition. You could go ham on rhyming if you're willing to just say nonsense. Or you can say exactly what you mean if you totally neglect rhyming.
I think every song plays a role and not every song needs to play every role. Some songs can be optimized for live performance, some can be optimized as singles, some can be optimized to be used on IG reels or ads, one can be your dense rhyming song, one can be your speed rapping song. Having different songs that prove you can excel in different areas can show that you check many boxes as a skilled rapper. But probably the most important role for most of your songs to play, business-wise; is that your song be streamable, not skippable, a vibe, and fit into popular playlists.
Thanks!
Ummm pls where canni find the cohesive rap video? ?
Dont let the enhancements take away from your message

One sold his red orange dodge challenger
I broke his jaw for wanting methadone
This guy doing DJing we robbed his ass dating my girlfriend at gps and some bitches working as cops
I'm on the same wave as cole… Lyrics are on everything… Flow is just like the SWAG or outfit… But lyrics is ur own body…the meat
Common sense I didn’t think about before. Thanks I think this will help
Yo Cole I'm slowly building up my rap career by learning how to write something great so that I can really get into it also I'm thinking about working on some of my songs with my friend Jackie being that she'll be the singer I've heard her sing numerous times and she's got a beautiful singing voice it sounded like an angel from the heavens that's how beautiful her voice is when she sings Ik I'm thinking about doing that but I didn't get to that yet I'm taking baby steps but don't worry if I can practice everyday then me and her can work on some music together
agree on lyrics #1 fo sho, it's about the perspective u can share:) But yeah playing around with them all as #1 is kewl!
Did you record the zoom session? I definitely could use that info because the concept part of the song making process is what I’m struggling with
Yea, freestyle session in effect, u wanna bet? U better check the technique, my style so unique when I speak I leave you seekin for the vet.
You sick puppy, Hush, I got more flava than a fkn slush puppy,
You'd be luck as fk if you ever got to hug me,
Cos I'm so cold-hearted marshmallow don't toast or roast on the fire when you're nearby me,
Cry me a River, shiver, I deliver a pipe to that chick robin quivers,
If you know what I mean,
I'm keen to rip off those jeans n get up in that azz like grass, like a Spanish lass sayin thanks, Gracias!
Always been a writer, always spoke music in my head when other folks speakin language, , now time to give it structure
I'm neeeew
Hi Cole ..am Kenyan, thanks for your honest job …am gonna kill it one day
Dude I've learned so much from you. I've become infinitely more creative with rapping and music in general. Once I watched your Five Pillars Of Rap Video a while ago and learned that Rhythm is the main pillar that everything else builds off of… This literally changed everything for me. Without the flow and without scatting random gibberish everything feels more tedious less passionate less quality and less structured. I really feel inspired to write and produce my own shit almost all the time now. I believe everyone has the potential to tap into their Musical Genius. Knowing why we're rapping and having the burning desire to reach our peak potential is essential. Thank you once again man!
I agreed with u… Lyrics are better.. if we really listen to rap… But nowadays these youngins are prefer flow… For vibing
U can hear it in a song like Pride is the Devil… J cole (lyric) vs lil baby (flow)
Yeah Lyrics r first for me…but ya id like to line up my rhythm with it…i can naturally ride a beat so i play around sometimes but i like hard flow so i gravitate to a Prodigy type flow
Hi cole im from Brazil, you just chaged my life this last weeks. I made 5 full musics in 5 months. After seeing you 4 bar tech, "how to study your rappers", structure, "punchlines" ,cadences. I just made 5 full musics with hook in 3 weeks. Now i got 10. All the beats that i couldnt rap on them was just my perception and my sylaves and my bar perceptions. You changed my mind dude. There is a science behind those schemes. Off course we have other videos in YT but you tech like a PRO
If y'all musicians made it, don't forget about Cole Mize. Man's spreading wisdom daily!
If hip hop was an anime Cole would be one punch man ? Knocks it out the park everytime ??
Thank you from nepal ??
Your videos help me out a lot. I've figured out my writing process and everything thanks so much
