  1. In my experience in writing and performing, there’s no such thing as a perfect song and, the purpose of a song is to lead them to where Messiah is. It’s the Holy Spirit’s job to do the rest. Matthew

  5. Hello guys, I enjoyed your video. Your tips really make sense to me as a Christian song writer. I have been writing music and lyrics most of my life and won a music scholarship to Point Loma University when I was 16. I used the music in leading worship and playing for private events when I was young. I have never been published, though many people have encouraged me to publish. Now that I am retired and spending more time alone with God, He has been "downloading" new songs to me, that may have potential in todays market if done by younger artists. I need someone to collaborate with. Any thoughts?

  6. Hello the Lord gave me a song while I was praying. It's fit for a choir with three verses and a brige. Lord Jesus gave it to me while going through a trial. I've been trying to get it out there for year's…wasn't God's timing yet. Although I truly believe it's time… I always had a feeling it was for the last day's and I believe these are the last day's. I only got the lyrics and the melody. I could never find someone to play and record it for me.

  7. The wonderful part of being a Christian songwriter, is God can speak to you and inspire you in many ways. From the sunrise to just something you hear someone say, God gives the best inspiration for songs, but always try to glorify him in the songs you write.

  8. I'm major into Christian Hard Rock. Switchfoot, POD, Mortal, etc. I really want to do more Christian rock music and want to get better at songwriting yet not sing something "generic". Thanks guys for the tips! You're so helpful. God bless guys!

  9. Thank you for the video. I enjoyed it greatly especially your and Nate's humor and personality. My style of writing is usually, I get an idea and maybe a snippet of lyrics and a riff or a snatch of melody. From there I work through a chord progression on guitar or songwriting software and sketch out the notes. After that the real work begins in the rewriting.

  10. I loved your 5 tips! I have a song called Hold Tight recorded by Songwriters Music Group. It's about a man that is having a very dark blue day. He asks his Soul what to do. The songs goes back and forth between the male and female (soul). It is a song about hope and inspiration.

  11. Hey guys, great video and information. I see you posted this back in 2017 and I know things change over time. Are you still active in God's Music Ministry? I write a lot of songs and would like to connect with you guys to see what you think of my work. All of my songs are really about my own relationship with God and what He has taught me over the years. I look forward to hearing back from you. God Bless, Don

  12. But I don't follow or love or copy any idols… But I get my inspirations from all walks of life. Cause gods in family, friends, memories, laughter, exercise, hobbies, relationships, love, pets or plants or something new or something u achieved.

  13. Thx for the tips, I've found it helpful to practice these. I have written the words first for many years but rare opportunities for musicians to help me put the music forced me to start learning and playing music on my own so I've now written a couple with the music and melody first then added the words. Again thanks for the encouraging video.
