Wow! I never thought a piano would fit so well into a Metallica song. They
sound like some long lost degerate brother of Lynyrd Skynyrd or something.?

Not great but not that bad either… I mean, I definitely prefer the
original version and there are lots of things I would have done
differently. For example, what if the clean verses had only been piano +
vocals and not the whole band? I think that would have sounded epic. Now it
sounded more like the original version + random piano parts over it. The
original version works perfectly on its own. They would have needed to
rearrange their parts to make the piano fit it. But it doesn’t sound as bad
as people say it sounds. It just sounded too complicated. As I said, they
should have removed some band parts and given the piano more space. Or the
piano should have given the band more space, I don’t know.
But yeah, I appreciate what Metallica did and the fact that they were ready
to do this kind of experiment.?
The piano ruined it. Didn’t fit the mood of the song at all. Totally
clashed?
I don’t know if this Lang Lang is a great pianist or not but he was not
playing in the same key as the rest of the band ( and at the begging he was
so out of tempo I wondered if it would be possible for the rest of the guys
to keep playing) ! First I thought “he is just trying some strange modes”
but then I understood, he didn’t know what the fuck to do. And the guys
from Metallica didn’t help has they were playing slightly to fast ( but
they do that almost all the time they play live). Not one of their best
performances.?
