I’m a professional songwriter making a living writing music and I have found tons of great info here. This book is a compilation of one talented guy’s lifetime worth of wisdom and experience. This is one of the best ways for a songwriter to spend $15!

I found this book helpful in focusing a more critical eye on my songs in order to position them to have hit potential. I have been a member of a number of songwriter associations and subscribed to various critique services and I have read several other books on the topic. This book is not about the craft of songwriting. It assumes that you know how to write a good song. Eric Beall provides guidance on what is required to get your good song to stand out from all the other good songs such that an artist wants to record it and radio wants to play it. A good read before you sit down to rewrite.

I’ve read this book twice, taking notes the second time. It is a wealth of great information that every aspiring songwriter should read.
