Sing Ms Ross!!!
Berry Gordys main cash cow at Motown was these three men?
So you need inspiration to make music? Music is “everywhere”. See how the
team of Holland-Dozier-Holland created one of #Motown ‘s Hit’s.?
Pure genius, these three.?
I won’t argue. The sound was a formula only known to Gordy. I DO believe
they were an anchor point. Many thought Motown ended when they left YET the
Supremes biggest hot came after that. I WILL argue POP..,,no I won’t. You
make a point, There was Motown. Old School 4 track The good stuff. West
Grand River. Smokey bars and good music. FUNK Brothers could play anything,
Here is a thought. Classic Rock, Still sells. There will never be classic
RAP. Bet YA!
OMG Thank you for this!!
the best songs of Motown are by their
HDH was great for the Motown-Pop sound and they were geniuses working with
the Tops and Supremes, but they are NOT the Motown Sound… It’s a
collection of ALL the songwriters, producers, musicians, artists, recording
technicians, quality control, etc. There’s just so much to it, you can’t
just say it is HDH… I do agree with the “Just amazing!” part though!
Actually, OK, You said group, HDH didn’t write to my understanding. So yeah
they were part of the group.
Absolutely!
thankyou for this, ’tis really wonderful to see, thanks.
Let’s get them back in the studio and work with the present generation more
often. The knowledge pool of these talents, along with Gamble & Huff, and
others is deep should not go to waste! Create the bridge! Thanks.
WOW! Legends! Best songwriting group in history
I’m one of those kids!
Are they still alive?
Arguably, the best music producers ever. Only the Beatles can be considered
to be on the same level.
Just amazing! It wasn’t all bout Gordy. Many have asked as did I, What is
the Motown sound, Wrong question,,, It was WHO:? God love you H D H
If you ever read this Eddie or Lamont or Brian just know I enjoy listening
to your music anytime.
And songwriters!!
I really wish that they could get together with Diana Ross and do one more
album – her voice is more associated with their matchless work than any
other.
Thank you so, so much Free Press for developing and posting this video. It
brings tears to my eyes to be granted this little bit of access into the
process, and the thoughts of the men who created this incomparable icon of
American 20th-century culture. The soundtrack of our lives, the Voice of
Young America!
