Songwriter for Music

A ghostwriter for music is an uncredited musician who writes song lyrics, keyboard and piano scores, guitar, and precession beat tracks. They can even provide the lead sheet. When musicians get stuck and are unable to find lyrics that go with their sounds or their sounds for their lyrics, and writer’s block just refuses to go away, they can work with a ghostwriter for music. A ghostwriter is a writer who is willing to write material for others, for a certain amount and not get credited for it. While originally this was limited to books, poems and speeches, ghostwriters for music are also increasingly becoming an option.

Many times a musician may find himself lacking inspiration to write or may be suffering from a simple case of writers block, where they have the words there in their heads but aren’t really able to put them down to paper, that’s when a ghostwriter steps in. In the first case, the artist and writer can have several lengthy discussions about what exactly it is that the musician wants to convey and what their thoughts were when starting the song and coming up with the sounds. In the other case of hiring a ghostwriter for music, the record company, band or artist may leave it all to the writer. In such cases the ghost writer writes the lyrics by themselves, based on the style of the artist or band as can be heard from their previous works. Sometimes the writer may also be called up to work on the melody with the artists, as having written the lyrics they have an idea of what the words can sound like. Or the writer may be asked to create the lyrics and melody, in effect submitting an almost finished song to the musicians that only needs to be tracked and recorded.

In most cases, the artists and writers are in contact with each other because the words written by the ghost writer need to be made into a song by the artist and by conversing and discussing the themes or ideas behind the lyrics, it becomes easier for both sides to do their job. With increasing number of new bands and artists each year, more existing acts are looking to hire ghostwriters for music to add a new style and develop a new sound so that they can attract a wider audience.
