David Gilmour
Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour has an ethereal, atmospheric style that is instantly recognizable. He used the versatile tones of the Fender Stratocaster in conjunction with Binson Echorec echo pedals to complement his and (bassist Roger Waters’) singing and songwriting abilities in creating the unique Floyd sound. Two of his best known solos are heard in “Time” and “Money”, both from the classic “Dark Side of the Moon” CD.
Many amateur composers fall victim to a badly drafted licensing agreement that totally stomps on their right over their royalties and possible million dollar career. This scenario does not only affect songwriters but also musical composers for movies and televisions. They write songs and produce music. Hip hop music has been in the forefront for a few decades and due to its expanding following, there are a large amount of artists trying to break into the business to produce hip hop music.

You’ll see below that while Paul McCartney was writing some great songs during this period, John Lennon was the bigger creative force in 1964. As things would move forward this would begin to equal out and in some years McCartney would write more of The Beatles songs than Lennon did.
