  1. Hi so I have a butt load of toontrack software. But when I watch videos that say beginner and abeltontogether it’s not really beginner. If it was it would start at the actual beginning. You guys are so good at this that you forgot what is the real beginning fo people like me. I have Ableton live 10 lite. This week I purchased live standard 10 for $500. They won’t talk to you unless you have at least this license. Here’s the real beginning.. you open your daw and Superior drummer3 how do you get SD3 into daw? These the million dollar question that no supposedly teacher types actually shows.you. You’re on you own. You have to move your software into the browser once you have that you can drag something you want into a clip etc. This is where most educational videos start. But it takes 6 months to figure out that part.so I’m really just starting this week even though I’ve had the daw and original ez drummer for more than a year. Don’t use lite it’s crap and a Ableton will not help you.dear toontrack , you could do a lot more to get us started.the ez keys are easy compared to SD3 and all the the things a person can do.

  2. Thank You, that was the best Hour and 15 mins I have ever spent for a while, your teaching was great, and showed me more ways of using EZI Keys and Ez Drummer together. It was a Joy to watch and fun.

  3. Buyer beware. EZ Keys is a handy product, but has the absolute worst user interface of ANY plugin I’ve ever used, and I have more than 800. It’s as frustrating to the creative process as Rikk is breathless singing its praises. The composing window where you drag the MIDI and try to work with it is locked to a size you need virtual tweezers to do so. The scrolling and sizing of what’s visible in that window must have been cut/paste from a 9-year-old’s class project… from 1990. Standard keyboard shortcuts used throughout the known universe don’t work (CTRL-Z, CTRL-X, CNTRL-C, CNTRL-V).

Check out the EZ Keys user forum on the site. We users have been BEGGING for someone to do SOMETHING about the GUI for a long, long time. The response is crickets. Their help is zero. It’s like trying to play a guitar whose strings are too close together; at some point you give up in frustration. I also have EZ Drummer 2. Much more useable. Having access to both forums as a user it seems clear the company is much more focused on its drum products. Superior Drummer being top of their heap. That’s where their user-experience is focused. I get it. The cash cow.

But how about throwing the EZ Keys community a bone. C’mon Rikk. You seem like you care. You really do. Your passion for what you do is there. How about seeing if you can vibe some on your product design team? Please? Otherwise, the day a competitor comes out with an alternative, that sound that was once a nicely played MIDI piano passage is going to be the sound of us users heading for the door. Apologies for the rant, but we users are super frustrated. Thanks.

  4. In Logic, and possibly other DAW I suggest you draw a blank or hat count bar midi region on the instrument channel at bar 1. This will be a safe way of protecting that channel strip against accidental deletion. I have programmed Superior drummer parts and instead of using the delete button in Superior or EZ keys I hit delete within the DAW by accident and BANG…. the channel strip has been deleted and the entire thing has gone!
All ypur work is now lost into the ether… DONT expect auto save to cover your arse… trust me! ? x

  5. In this session I have EZ Drummer 2 (KaChing $$) EZ Keys (KaChing $$) EZ Mix (KaChing $$) and inside EZ Drummer 2 I have the Metal Pack (KaChing $$)…..see where this is going?
