Idk why she feels she’s gotta lie about writing music , it’s kind of pathetic, when you can perform as well as her I don’t think people really expect nor care wether or not you write your own music….but to lie about it just reeks of desperation..I wish someone who actually wants to help her could tell her that. People would love it If she gave more credit to the song writers instead of insulting them by saying “ so and so wrote that with me” oh what because you thought of an “oh baby” To throw in there…now you’ve officially co-wrote the song , it’s a bigger deal then people realize.

  9. Beyoncé can barely freaking speak… do you really think she’s writing her music? Beyoncé changes “him” to “her” and thinks she’s a songwriter. Girl please. By the way I’m not saying that she’s not talented. She’s a great singer and great performer. I couldn’t do 1/10th of what she does… but she’s no freaking songwriter.

    To me another tell tale sign is most artists that write their own music also write for other artists(Sia, Lady Gaga, Neyo, Taylor Swift, Pharrell, Prince). Has anyone ever heard of Beyoncé writing for someone else? Or giving a song to another artist??

  24. Columbia records thought destiny child THEMSELVES weren’t going to amount to anything and they let them do whatever they want .. meaning it was on them to make hit .. and not even them ! BEYONCÉ wrote some /most songs on their album … she just recently wrote “shining “ everyone throws she changes a few words but she actually doesn’t ..: she brings writers she interested in too her . She prove that almost ALL THE TIME . And they write the songs together !! … she got songwriter award before and etc ..

  27. In the literary world, stealing material from 1 person and passing it off as your own is plagiarizing. Stealing material from several persons and passing it off as your own is research. That's said, I don't think doing either makes you an AUTHOR. I'd say Beyoncé is a pretty talented researcher.

Beyonce is a MUSICIAN. meaning she can partake in various aspects of the art form (including writing and producing). as a musician, we all have limitations &/or cannot fully express ourselves the way we would like to. the great thing about beyonce is she pushes the envelope and is willing to learn and evolve. that being said, in order to evolve, one has to be exposed to various bodies of a subject to comprehend it. that's why she is who she is. many of the greats didn't write their own music or also collaborated. many of todays artist don't even or barley partake in those aspects anyways. they just sing the song

  36. I love Beyonce as a peformer and she's probably one of the most talented artists today in that sense, but she's not a songwriter, period, no matter what this video says. I'll tell you how it works: you hire 5 people to write a song for you or you buy it from a catalog. You change one or two lines, or a few harmonies here and there, and then your credit AND ROYALTIES as a songwriter are included. But 95% of the song was made by one or more people. That's the way half pop singers work today including Beyonce, who is not a musician, but a vocalist and a performer. But just like a person down here is commenting, the reason to include yourself as a songwriter is not only ego, but money. If you don't do that, then 90% of the money will go to record labels and songwriters, and you will only make money out of your concerts (after you pay everyone else). That's the reason people like Beyonce always make sure they're credited as songwriters, go on tour almost every year, release special dvd and cd editions all the time, and look for sponsors. You can't have a career as a singer being just a singer, that's also a fact.

  42. This video is weird… The first half sounded like you were outing Beyonce for her lack of input in the creation of her songs but then go on to praise/defend her? For example IF "Give it to me mama" was her idea to add and that's all she really did then yes, she gets a credit but is it worthy? In the minds of most people like Linda Perry who is a proper songwriter, no/barely. It seems she's scraping by with the bare minimum input for a majority of these and other songs mentioned in this video.

  43. Honestly there's a live performance of irreplaceable in which she literally says that she has written the song, now isn't it weird how now all of sudden she just says that Ne-Yo wrote irreplaceable. Why is she even on the album credits if he's the one who has written it.
