what are some things you're doing in 2022 to get better?
hey Charles, that's an inspiring idea to me. But correct me if i'm wrong, so what i get is ur saying start with high level annual goals for the year first, quarterly second, monthly third and followed up by weekly, daily and hourly? thank u for ur respond, respect
Very helpful tips! Totally agree with getting the music out there. Austin Kleon has a book on this topic “show your work” and it really helped me reframe the process. Thanks for sharing!
Very nice video dude! I agree with all the points! UP!!
Charles, another great video. You are inspiring. I've spend a lifetime setting goals for business. Now I excited to actually set some goals around song writing. Thank you for the practical ideas. I am going to follow your advice. I never thought of setting goals for songwriting. I never thought of making a list of the songs I 've written and for sure I have not published anything. I am excited to start getting this part of my life organized. Thanks again – Jeff
Ultimately I am convinced that whether you’re recording with a cheap cassette recorder in your backyard or with the best producers and the finest professional gear in the finest studio in all the world doesn’t matter. It’s WHAT you’re recording that makes all the difference.
Hey great video
Could you show how smart tempo in logic works?
For example, how to align both audio and midi to the beat. How to find the tempo and also choose a tempo. It works sometimes with either audio or midi but combined its a bit messy.
This is really inspiring advice! I’m already hyper-organized but got a lot from this, especially the publishing, “getting stuff out there” and importance of patting yourself on the back. I love the video idea at the end, I’m gonna try that. I’ve actually been recording voice notes from time to time as well.
I've benefited a good deal from your help with these videos. And learning more is all I plan to do in 2022. Perhaps you could – just a suggestion here – address plugins that help with backup singer or singing sounds. I'm wondering about something like Paul Rogers Muddy Water Blues…backup sounds like the female group he uses with that song, and similar…I can't expect exactness with this kind of thing, but I'm not finding quite the right tones in Logic X at the moment that satisfy me. I'm still trying though.
Interesting thoughts. I steal the idea of splitting goals on a quarterly basis. Getting feedback is challenging. When you ask an opinion from two people, you get two different answers. I would trust myself.
Cooperation is a topic that could be shared even more, how it works in practice, especially with those who are not yet very familiar. For the first time, all you have to do is trust, limit your workload and try out how it works. Does one have the main responsibility and the other will assist with how the contracts go, what kind of work is in practice.
collaborate and release more music!!
