Writer’s block happens to all of us at some point. It’s the one thing musicians struggle with the most.

This lyric writing strategy works like magic, especially if you have writer’s block, or what we call songwriter’s block.

It’s a bit unorthodox. And the first things you write down may not end up in your song. In fact, the final lyrics may not be anywhere near it.

But the idea is to get you taking action. And putting your pen to paper is the absolute best way to get those metal lyric ideas flowing.

  2. i have a theme i like a concept of what i want it to be about already. but just need to learn how to generate lyric ideas,
    before coming to this video i was trying to look up how to write church like melodies cause i want something that at 1st sound heavenly, soft and innocent, then cut it with the sound of something breaking an notes messing up before it goes dark. BUT FUCKING SADLY none of the church going retard that push how play the piano dont know how to write music only read music.

  8. This has got to be the most effective video I've watched so far on how to write lyrics, and I'm not even talking about Metal lyrics specifically. I could see this working for every genre I'm into, not just the heavier ones.

    Also, your handwriting is fine. Don't worry about it.
