Who is TridentLion?
Fresh out of college after completing a B.A. online I was already a father of 2 kids. The greatest thing I learned from online college was discipline, having a goal and working your ass of until its achieved. I’ve worked various jobs since I was 13 years old, having had a strong value for hard work instilled in me while growing up. I worked jobs from landscaping, to restaurants, to even plays. After college I got into real estate sales to support my family and became successful doing so. However none of those jobs were igniting the fire of passion inside me; I didn’t enjoy doing those things. So I’ve been on a journey to become a better version of me, doing work I actually love. I became obsessed with learning and growth, reading hundreds of books, learning what other successful people do. I started to see problems as opportunities to be solved.
So I set out to solve the problems: What do I want out of life? What do I want to do? What are my passions?
I found my passions are to learn, create, and to inspire.

Great video I subscribed
I would love that
Thanks for the summary. Songwriting is not supposed to be fun though. If it were, more people would actually do it, rather than talk about doing it. It's actually bloody hard work. As Jimmy Webb said, "songwriting is hell on earth. If it isn't, you're not doing it right".
filthy dog: smells like a bitch, feels like a hairy mess, makes me cringe, tastes like sand that isn't sandy lol, gets me thinking about Donald trump and bill Clinton having passionate sex in corrupt soup of fish. im fearless in my approach!
HORRIBLE DELIVERY
This is seriously so amazing I can tell a lot of thought was put into tnis
Good book,Ive had it for a very long time now.
Metaphors support lyrics like 'bones.'
I love how theres more views on the money aspects on the music industry….that just shows how many people fantasize and people who put in the work…
I'm not a native English speaker so will it also improve my English like vocabulary and stuff
i´d love that
It's *relevant (not relative). But great video!
Literally me: Ah yes, let me choose the word, "paintbrush" because of the ones sitting next to me.
Him: Let's say you like painting, you would choose, "paintbrush"
Me: Shit
This week I've gotten up an hour earlier to sit and work out of Pat's Songwriting without Boundaries. I've just finished the Object writing section but I'm going to keep doing that exercise in the future. It's just a great way to wake up in the morning. You wake up a writer then that night you go to bed a writer.
Now, I've written about 10 songs in my whole life and they're all shit. Never had a streak of actually writing a bunch of songs in succession and I always thought it was a gene I didn't have. The other day I started just writing in verse, for a laugh and I wrote:
And if these words don't resonate, then that's not why I wrote 'em
Now put your hand around my shaft and feast upon my scrotum.
About the most immature thing I've ever written but you can't deny – it rhymes and has rhythm. It's not a cliché laden song where I rhyme June, Moon and Spoon. I'm proud of it. Not in the sort of "I'm going to ring Grandma and tell her the good news!", just that I accomplished something.
I wish I found this sooner, thanks.
Awesome Video?
Hai Thanks for review, please explain me more about object party writing by Gillian Welch on that book. thanks
This inspired me when I was about to give up. Thank you.
Great video , thank you! I will start be consistent )
Thank you for writing this, I am one of the greatest american songwriters in history. However, for me in the past success was as simple as hearing my lyrics sung on the radio and not receiving credit never mattered to me much before. Now, however, I have bands uhhh winning Grammy's (yes plural) for my work so.. I figured I outta start copyrighting. Thank you for this informative and different 'scholarly' perspective on how to write lyrics. You've definitely given me something to think about, as I try to continue to keep my lyrical writing greatly diversified so that every band I write for does NOT start sounding the same. Thank you!
Great vid man! Thanks for sharing
I have written a couple of lyrics. What do I do with them?
Awesome work bro
do keep on doing this for fellow musicians like us…m/
im a big fan of ur youtube. you have a wide variety of subjects from best sellers! i have no clue why u don't have a million views or subscribers. but I'm guessing the people who are too lazy to read are even too lazy to hear a summary
Amazing video buddy! Just found your channel and really enjoy the content you are putting up! Our channels are actually very similar 😀
For that reason I would love to do a collaboration or something with you, if that sounds of interest.
Anyways, keep up the good work!
🙂
