20 Replies to “How To Write A HIT SONG! (3 Pillars)”

  1. Writing a hit song with integrity, style, innovation, balls, and catch the attention of millions is incredibly difficult. Sure anyone can come out with a viral piece of crap however, to write something that will last generations and invite/inspire young people to carry the flame is my life’s dream

  2. As a metal head, I can say that I have had to dispense with comments about pop songs and structures for the sake of expanding my craft. Not just as a song writer but as an engineer as well. Broadening horizons isn't such a bad thing. Pop's biggest concern is lyrical elements. Admittedly I enjoy the screams but that is because there is a type of intensity you can easily find from that which may parallel your raw emotions of anguish better than most pop songs. However, the structure of a pop song has a hidden science to it that pleases the listeners ear. If these techniques were applied to metal… Some interesting things are likely to occur no doubt. Cheers music enthusiasts. Whether your poison is pop, metal, edm, hiphop, country, jazz or folk… Meld it with you heart and mind. Be well all. ../,

  3. If YOU don’t have any hit songs out, I really don’t wanna hear this shit. I have no idea on your credentials, idk who you are. If your not someone like Eminem, Pharrell, Jay-Z, or anyone whose putting hits out right now? Everything you say is irrelevant to me. Let us know on your credentials and who you’ve written for.

  4. Dude you talk about things that you didn't tried personally. How could you know what is needed to write a hit song, when you didn't have one. We should ask Max Martin about this, but of course he will avoid telling us his secrets. It's cash cow for a few chosen. Those vids are only entertainment

  5. how would you explain a phenomena like Lana Del Rey? She's massively commercially successful, and yet she breaks some reals as well. Her music is not danceable or groovy, she mainly focuses on lyric writing, and she has a very non-traditional approach to singing. Yet she kills the music game.
