Amazing content! I've been going through "Songwriting techniques" for a few years, so I am going to try the other 3 books to open my mind!! thanks a lot!!??
I love the dog on its back on the couch in the background!
I'm in the early stages of reading Jason Blume's book, 6 Steps to Songwriting Success. It's well written. If it continues to be as good in subsequent chapters as it is at the beginning, it will prove to be a good investment.
Thanks, Chad. I enjoyed that. Your enthusiasm is contagious. I thought I had read "enough" books on songwriting, but I haven't read any of these, so, boy do I have a lot of homework now. I'm a member of SongTown and am now reading Clay's book on melody writing. Marty's book on Song Building is next on my list. I've just added the Stolpe, Perricone, Frederick books to my Amazon wish list. I'll get to them.
A great book for lyric writing only is The Craft of Lyric Writing by Sheila Davis. It's written in early 80s, so the songs she use as ref. are old but the technique she teaches are great.
Great book ideas. Thanks.
Song building inspired my blueprinting process – one of my sacred texts ?
I love "great songwriting techniques" it's deep and specific for songwriters.
