Heres mine: This world that i live in is empty and cold this lonliness cuts me and tears at my soul. Im no child of destiny no fortune son ive chased you so long now im to weak to run. So here i return to a back street of thrills back to any warm shoulder til shes got her filled. And then i treat shame like an old friend from home that i can lean on til the misery is gone. A new day is here yet nothing is new youre still gone and there is snow in my hair cause of you. I cry out at bed time no please not tonight but again theres your footsteps and i turn on the light of course youre not there no you never are then i try to forget that theres always a bar. And when i win that battle yes sometimes i do but sleep does not come when i think of you

you don't have to google every word to find rhymes and synonyms. have you heard of online dictionaries like rhymezone or rhymedesk?

Hi, a really great video. However, can I ask how do I match the lyrics to a instrumental? Do I write out the lyrics and try to find the melody first, or do I get the melody from the instrumental and then write to it.

Very good – thanks for these intro' videos. I've just watched 1,2,3 and 4 and it's encouraged me to get writing in a more controlled and productive way.

Having a process has to be the way forward otherwise you're just waiting for inspiration to strike, and that's very unpredictable.

I've subscribed. I'm very keen to watch more of your videos!

How's this for my chorus: (Please don't steal it)
"Joyful days, painful nights, fake smiles to the cheek-bone. Glistening red wine, endless yelling and fights, break our silver linings throw them high. "

Nicola love this songwriting series soooooooo much. The chords can be a little difficult if a person doesn't play any instruments. What do you recommend in that case ? Myself…….. I used to play guitar however haven't played in years therefore this process of choosing your chords to write your own song would be extremely difficult. What tips can you offer especially for the person that has NEVER played any instruments ? Thanks 🙂

Title: On my ownVerse: it feels just like we were in a dream, the faded memories or you and me, the dream was gone with the summer breeze, my pain inside can't be heard, now it's just me,
Verse: I wish you knew how I felt when you pushed me aside, pushed me aside, oh I think we're through
Chorus: without you I'm all alone, am I gonna be alone forever, it'll only be myself and I, am I fine, so far from you, was it even real, I just don't know if I'm brave enough to take this road, on my own,
    Bridge: (music plays)
Verse: maybe I'm falling on my face, or maybe your landin in my space, maybe we're standin heart to heart, but no matter what you say we're done, and I'm never lookin back, lookin back to you any day from now, that's why, that's why,
Chorus: without you I'm all alone, am I gonna be alone forever, it'll only be myself and I, am I fine, so far from you, was it even real, I just don't know if I'm brave enough to take this road, on my own,
